We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join a CDN & Origin Services team based in Stockholm. In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team delivering streaming media services to millions of users across the Nordic region.

You will play a key role in developing and maintaining backend systems that support video and radio encoding, packaging, and distribution. The assignment also includes contributing to the design and scaling of CDN and origin infrastructure, ensuring high performance and reliability.

The role involves close collaboration with other development teams, as well as network, datacenter, and support functions. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting, optimizing, and maintaining services in production. The team operates in an agile environment with a high degree of ownership and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain backend systems for media streaming services

  • Contribute to the design and scalability of CDN and origin platforms

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across development, network, and operations

  • Troubleshoot and optimize production systems

  • Work in an agile setup with a strong sense of ownership

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience with Java SE

  • Experience working with distributed systems

  • Knowledge of OTT streaming protocols such as HLS, DASH, SRT/MPEG-TS, and RTMP

  • Familiarity with video/audio codecs and container formats

  • Experience with C or C++

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or shell

  • Strong knowledge of GNU/Linux environments

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP and application protocols, particularly HTTP

  • Good understanding of modern software design principles

  • Strong communication skills in English (Swedish is a plus but not required)
