ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Software Developer at Mentice, you will be part of a cross‑functional team working on both customer‑oriented and internal development projects within the Mentice product portfolio. Your work will span from simulation applications and virtual patient cases to 3D anatomies, medical devices and supporting tools and workflows.
You will contribute throughout the development lifecycle – from implementation and configuration to testing and verification – always with a strong focus on quality and usability. The role is hands‑on and collaborative, offering the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across disciplines in a technically advanced and meaningful domain.
This is a full‑time, on‑site position based at Mentice’s office in Gothenburg, Sweden. Occasional travel (up to 5%) may occur.
You will:

Create mid-to-high level functionality for Mentice simulation software and virtual patient cases.

Model instrument and devices, veins, arteries, bones and internal organs. Create simulated anatomies from CT data, using segmentation software. Modify existing anatomies for new requirements.

Create customer branding. Assist in developing GUI standard, images, logos.

Develop and maintain the tools and workflow for creating cases, anatomies, devices etc. for usage within the Mentice software.

Test and verification during development and before releases.
YOUR PROFILE
You are a curious and motivated software developer who enjoys working with complex products and continuously deepening your technical expertise. You take responsibility for your work, solve problems in a structured way and value collaboration in cross‑functional teams. You also have a genuine interest in understanding the end user and building solutions that truly make a difference.
You have:

Minimum B.Sc. or equivalent in Engineering or Science

At least 2 years of experience in software engineering, digital arts, 3D visualization, computer science and/or IT

Solid experience in C++ development

Experience with or knowledge of OpenGL, JavaScript and Qt/QML

Experience with 3D modeling software, preferably within simulation, gaming or visualization environments

Comfortable working with modern AI coding tools and agentic development workflows, and able to apply them pragmatically to build, test, and improve software

Strong communication skills and professional proficiency in English, written and spoken
Meritorious:

Experience working with simulators or other complex technical systems

Medical knowledge, particularly within anatomy

Experience using modern AI‑assisted coding tools and agentic development workflows

Proficient in Swedish
